Today we drove from Dallas to Austin to San Antonio and then to our destination in Houston, where we of course arrived late, but thankfully not past midnight.
We didn't have much time in Dallas (as usual) as we were busy enjoying our beautiful hotel room, but we did stop by to check out the America Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks. We also stopped by at the top floor of our hotel to take a few photos of the city skyline.
We then headed off for Austin where we're told Barney may have stayed before becoming the First Dog. Our lone stop in Austin was to see the Capitol building that he would've resided in along with his home in Crawford. It was a pretty magnificent building with tons of squirrels outside begging to be chased up the nearest tree. We gladly obliged when given the opportunity.
We left Austin for San Antonio, again on a tight timeline to make it there in time to see the Alamo before it was too dark to get any good photos. We fought through traffic and luckily made it on time. The Alamo was quite a tiny building that most we're used to seeing and taking pictures with, but it was good to see it and read a little about what happened there.
We then headed over to the riverwalk, which was a beautiful area of San Antonio at night, we told ourselves that we must come back again to enjoy the city as that area itself seemed worth just hanging out and enjoying good times.
After that, we headed off to Houston and arrived there after a few hours on the road. The only real thing of interest during that drive was the lack of mile post 666. We saw 665 and 667, but where in the world did milepost 666 go on East I-10?
We arrived in Houston late as usual and headed up to our hotel room where they had a doggie bed waiting for both Boone and I. I loved mine, Boone didn't quite care for his as much, opting to use the bed instead.
