We didn't have much planned to do in Houston, but we did have time to meet up with our buddy MacFarland who had seen Boone and I on the internet and wrote to us. MacFarland is a very handsome and distinguished Scottie and while Boone seemed to enjoy his company, my mind was elsewhere one would guess, with our arrival in DC now only 8 days away.
If we had more time, I'm sure it would've been fun to go to a dog park and romp around chasing each other, or at the very least watching Boone and MacFarland walk around marking each other's territory (which they ended up doing plenty of), but alas, it wasn't meant to be.
From there we headed out to New Orleans, through a torrential rainstorm filled with thunder and lightning and clearing up in time to see the beautiful bayou.
Upon arriving in New Orleans, we went straight to Bourbon street to see what all the hype was about. While we obviously missed the big spectacle that is Mardi Gras and New Orleans is still recovering from the levies faltering, and to top it off, we were there on a Wednesday night, there was still a decent amount of people.
Some were even giving away free beads! After a quick explanation of how I (Kenzie) should go about obtaining said beads, I decided to show everyone the goods and immediately had people from the loft above hootin' and hollerin' at me and tossing down beautiful beads. I put them on immediately and then continued walking down Bourbon street showing them off to everyone.
After the trip up and down Bourbon street, we decided to head back to the hotel and call it a night. What a blast it was though, hopefully we can come back for Mardi Gras some day.
