VIP treatment at Orlando's Universal Studios
After spending the previous night at Disney World, we started our day by heading over to Universal Studios. We arrived there and met a nice woman named Marcia, who was happy to meet us and graciously gave us a great parking spot near the entry since we didn't plan to stay long. From there we went up to find out that dogs aren't allowed past the security checkpoint, so we were unable to pass through the Citywalk to get a picture from the entrance.
The person doing the security checks was nice enough to radio his boss and see if there was anything that could be done for us. We then met Walter, we explained to him our plight and that a photo of Universal Studios would go great in our fabulous collection. He didn't take long to convince and was generous enough to call Tom.
We went back down and met Tom who was in a security minivan, Walter asked Tom if he'd take us into the park to get some photos. We were quite excited to hear this, so we hopped in the van and were whisked away to the side entry of the park.
Inside the park we looked around a little bit before stopping in front of the spinning Universal globe and posed for a few photos. It was the first theme park where they'd actually let us in, so we were quite excited to be there. Sadly we couldn't stay long, but we greatly appreciate everyone who helped us get the great photos.
After that, we left Orlando, heading north along I-95. While our itinerary lists Savannah as our stay for the night, we're probably going to try and see if we can get further north to make tomorrow's trip shorter. We decided that we'll be staying in Virginia Beach tomorrow night and meeting up with a few folks there.
In other big news, with only two days until our arrival in DC, we finally heard back from someone at the White House. We were told that they're unable to accommodate My Date with Barney because Barney hasn't been able to fill previous requests that other (normal) people and/or dogs like myself have made to see him. While I'm still holding out hope that I'll get the chance to meet him, the chances seem like slim to none now.
