April 22nd, 2007
The day in Toronto

We started our day with another breakfast buffet. We couldn't resist given how much we enjoyed the previous one. We then met up with Alexandra, a friend we met through our website who couldn't resist wanting to meet us.

We then proceeded to the nearby CN Tower. It looks eerily similar to the Space Needle and it's right next to Skydome where the roof is able to open and close, similar to Safeco Field in Seattle. Needless to say, we felt right at home in Toronto, except for how people talk.

From there we walked north past St. Andrews Centre (Center) where we saw someone in a sleeping bag in the middle of the sidewalk. We tip-toed past him and made our way to the subway.

Aboard the subway without needing our travel bags, we headed north towards Casa Loma. We arrived at the stop and made our way past a "Squeeze Left" sign, a sign we're told that means the right lane is ending. We made our way up some steps and found Casa Loma, a lovely castle nestled in the suburban area of Toronto. We walked around the outside of it enjoying the view until finally deciding it was time to see more of Toronto.

We walked back to the Subway and headed back south, stopping at the old City Hall for a glimpse before moving on to compare it to the new City Hall. We usually favor the older styles, but the new City Hall was quite aesthetically pleasing.

We then began our walk back to the Hotel along Yonge Street, the longest street in the world, stopping for a moment to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame. Then reaching the very end of the street, we stopped for some photos to capture the moment.

We continued our walk to our hotel nearby, hopped in the van and headed back to Niagara for the night.

On our way back to Niagara, we decided to stop near Hamilton and grab a bite to eat along a nice strip of Lake Ontario. The view was picturesque and so of course we posed for some photos of ourselves. The water appeared to go forever, as if it were an ocean without waves.

We finished our food, hopped back in the van and made our way to Niagara where we enjoyed a room this time with a view of the Falls and got to see them lit up. While it was nice to see, the color lights were less impressive than we'd hoped. We fell asleep to the soothing sound of the falls verberating through the windows to our room.
